The National Reverse Mortgage Education Center™ (“NRMEC”) has created this Privacy Policy in order to demonstrate our strong commitment to privacy and to inform you of our practices with respect to the collection and use of Personal Information. NRMEC is deeply committed to respecting and protecting your right to privacy and takes your privacy seriously. We have very strict privacy policies and we strive to keep your personal and financial information secure. We do not sell, rent, loan, or give your email address or other personal information to anybody and will never do so. By using the NRMEC web site located at www.NRMEC.org (this “Site”), you consent to the following terms.
What we collect: The data that we regularly collect about visitors to the Site (e.g., IP address, browse type, pages accessed, duration of visit, etc.) does not necessarily enable us to personally identify you, and that is not our intention. We do collect personally identifiable information about you, including for example, your name, and contact information (your “Personal Information”), but only if you voluntarily provide it to us by submitting such information and/or requesting further information.
How we use it: We will maintain the confidentiality of your Personal Information and it will be used only to support your business relationship with NRMEC. If you choose to provide us with Personal Information, we will use such information primarily to respond to your inquiry or provide you with more detailed and customized information regarding NRMEC's products and services. We may also use such information (i) as reasonably necessary to administer or provide customer support for the Site; (ii) to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to analyze Site usage, improve our content and product offerings, and customize the Site's content, layout, and services; and (iii) for research and marketing purposes, including providing you with periodic communications about products, services, discounts, or upcoming events.
Disclosure: NRMEC may use certain third party vendors to assist NRMEC in providing our products and services. NRMEC may transfer your Personal Information to such vendors who have entered into a contract with NRMEC that protects the confidentiality of your Personal Information and permits the vendor to use it only as reasonably necessary to fulfill its contract with NRMEC. We may also disclose your Personal Information as we believe is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation or other governmental authority or to prevent harm to yourself or others. Finally, NRMEC may disclose your Personal Information upon a transfer or sale of all or substantially all of NRMEC’s stock or assets in NRMEC’s line of business to which this Privacy Policy relates or upon any other corporate reorganization.
Aggregate Data: We may aggregate Personal Information and disclose such information in a non-personally identifiable manner to third parties. In these situations, we do not disclose any information that could be used to identify you personally. Personal Information, such as your name and email address is not disclosed to these third parties without your consent.
Opt-In User and Disclosure: Users of the Site may have opportunities to opt-in to have their Personal Information used for other purposes. If you do not wish to participate in these opportunities, such use of your Personal Information can be prevented by choosing not to opt in.
Use of Cookies: To facilitate your use of the Site, NRMEC and its service provider uses session cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data that servers transfer to your browser and that only servers can read. When you access the Site, the cookie file captures your IP address, unique session identifier number and other session data to enable you to traverse through the Site’s various screens without having to authenticate yourself at each new screen or input duplicate information. NRMEC's cookies terminate at the end of the session and no information is permanently saved on your system.

If you choose to visit a third party's site, please be aware that the third party's privacy policy, and not NRMEC's, will govern your activities and any information you disclose while visiting the third party's site.
Tell-A-Friend: If a visitor elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our Site, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. NRMEC will automatically send the friend a one-time only email inviting them to visit the Site. NRMEC does not store this information.
Security: Because any Personal Information that you submit to NRMEC online is purely voluntary and should not be of a particularly sensitive nature, we employ our standard security measures and do not use any special encryption methods at this time, except with respect to the transmission of credit card information. When personal information such as a credit card number is transmitted through our online store, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol (see our Secure Web site Certificate).
Policy Changes: NRMEC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy, and will post any revisions on the Site. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Site will be subject to the then-current Privacy Policy.
